RULES & REGULATIONS
ASC HVZ Rules

-
* Socks are your only protection- unless something else is put in the game during play by moderators/Gamemakers. (for example -- Immunity swords, shields, etc.)
-
* NO socks can be thrown directly to the FACE. (we realize many folks are not that accurate)
-
* Please abide by the Honor Code... be truthful when you are tagged and tag someone

Required Equipment: (PROVIDED)

-
*Orange Bandanna -- must be visible at all times during gameplay
-
*Socks -- Humans will start with a predetermined number of orange socks -- the Gamemaker will dictate how many you have at any given time.
-
*Zombies will have a predetermined number of black socks (used for tagging)
-
*QR code lanyard w/ player ID# to report tags
Safe Zones:
-
*Inside all Buildings
-
*20 feet from any doorways/entrances
-
*Parking lots/Roads (anywhere cars could pose a hazard)
-
*Work-study students who are playing and have to be outside during their shift only (not to and from work) may put their bandanna around their neck as they perform their work duties.
-
Everywhere else outside is Free Game.
-
Game boundaries: are Front Loop, South Chandler, and South McDonough Street. We are playing across East Dougherty Street in the Woodruff Athletics area. Sidewalks by the street and the street are safe zones. (Don't play in the street and don’t jump into the street to avoid being tagged)
-
*A zombie must have both feet outside of a safe zone when they throw their black sock.
-
*Zombies must stay clear of doors; no puppy guarding.
-
Non-Participants: People who are not registered participants may not directly interact with the game unless they have been inserted by the game maker/moderator.

Human Rules:

-
Conditions for Winning: Humans win when the last zombie starves to death.
-
*Staying on campus: If for whatever reason you need to leave campus for longer than 24 hours, we apologize, but in this case, you must inform one of the moderators so we can remove you from the game.

Stunning a Zombie:

-
Humans may stun a Zombie for 5 minutes by hitting them with a thrown orange sock. The sock must leave the human's hand. Nothing else can be used to aid in the throwing of the sock. If the Human was successful in hitting the Zombie, the Human must retrieve their sock. Both humans and zombies can only have a predetermined number of their own socks in their possession at any time.
-
Zombies who are stunned cannot pick up the sock that stunned them.
-
When tagged by a Zombie: When tagged by a Zombie, the Human is required to show their QR card with their name to the Zombie. The Zombie will scan the QR code and fill out the form so they can report who they tagged.
-
Once tagged by a Zombie, humans place their bandanna around their neck for 5 minutes and cannot actively pursue any humans. After the five-minute period, the bandanna moves from neck to head.
-
Once the bandanna is around the head, you are a full Zombie and allowed to start tagging Humans. Exchange your socks at the Library.

Zombie Rules:

-
Conditions for Winning: The Zombies win when the Human team has no remaining members.
-
Wearing your Bandanna: The Zombie team must wear a bandanna around their head at all times. There is no covering of the bandanna with hats or any article of clothing. It must be showing at all times.
-
Humans must have the bandanna visibly worn between their elbow and shoulder (bicep). Humans must wear contrasting-colored shirts or jackets. You cannot hide your bandanna.
-
Tagging: This year Zombies will have black socks that they throw at humans to tag them. After tagging a Human, the Zombie will report the tag.
-
For a Zombie to tag a Human, you must be facing the human -- no tags from behind or above.
-
We have a Google form that all participants will complete as soon as a player has been turned. This allows us to know who is a human and who is a zombie.
-
Zombies must report tagging/ feeding a human to the Google form/QR Code on their badges. Please check the website for updates and your email for any pressing updates.
-
Feeding: Zombies must feed within 24 hours. A zombie feeds by reporting their tag of the Human. A zombie that feeds twice in quick succession may choose to feed a fellow Zombie instead of resetting their own feeding timer.
-
Getting stunned by a sock: When hit with a sock, a Zombie is stunned for 5 minutes and must put their bandanna around their neck. A stunned zombie may not interact with the game in any way. This includes shielding other zombies from socks or continuing to run toward a human. Throwing a sock at a stunned zombie has no effect.
-
Turninators: If Turninators are employed during the game, your status as a zombie/human may change. If a human is tagged by a turninator, they become a zombie. If a zombie is tagged by a turninator, they become a human.
